well we finally made it all the way to Iowa. The boys did reasonably well for the long trip; they didn't scream any more than i wanted to. After three days of driving i am surprised i had the stamina to endure it. I'm certainly not looking forward to eating any more burgers for a long time.
It really is lovely here. Some may think that the landscape is dull or boring compared to our majestic mountains back home, but Iowa has its place too. The trees are huge and everything is green. There are so many cornfields here, everywhere you turn and they roll on for miles. There is barely any evidence left of the floods in our area, unless you know where to look.
We haven't met any of our neighbors yet, and we can't remember where the Ross family has moved to, so we haven't been very social, but my parents are here. Its been so nice to have them for the trip! If I had to drive the whole way myself I'd have taken at least a week. And to have them here while we are settling in has helped my emotions quite a bit. i'm glad i haven't started bawling again. On Thursday they head back for SLC and Mom and Dad in-law are flying in to continue the emotional support that holds me together. Although I do like our apartment, and the city is beautiful, without our family here it is hard to consider it home. This way i can pretend that the parents are just around the corner, and they can stop by anytime. We will post some pictures of our place really soon.

Glad you guys made it... we need addresses etc... Finished with the book yet!?!
Wow you have a home! That's so nice. I'm not in Iowa either but I'm a close 2nd to Iowa here in Korea. I have a few similarities too. Let me give you details.... 1. It too is very green. So green in fact that they have extra support on all of the trees so that they don't fall down. 2. I had some wild tasting corn "stuff" for lunch. I need a steak. 3. This is home to a lot of the major Samsung plants in the world, and since MR JOE work'd with phones I know he'd appreciate the name samsung. 4. Not many people speak english very well here. (I know Iowa is not the south but I'm positive you have some rednecks that don't speak english very well either!) 5. It too was a long trip to get here. The only thing is that although my family is supporting me here, there are not here with me and I miss my girls. I think I'm done typing here. KINDA LONG!!! I'm really glad you all made it safe and that you are happy there! Cheers! hip hip hooray. I'm a geek
hey! this is brennen's sis again...welcome to iowa. PLEASE call if you need anything at all. Brennen has my number.
Yay, you're finally there. Good luck settling in. I hope you like it. There certainly is nothing like being so far away from everyone you know, but it can also be kind of exhilarating. We love you guys. Call me if you want to vent, or at least talk to someone in the same position. I know it can be hard at times. Have fun
Good luck in your new state. Being out on your own has huge benefits, and you'll learn to love your new life and home in time!
We do miss you and hope that you are surviving. I am glad you have a few weeks together before Joe starts school. It took me a while in Vegas, but then it will begin to feel normal. We love you.
It's okay to cry. It cleans you out.
It also makes you realize how much you do love your family. And it shows them too.
Nice Field of Dreams reference.
